Shelter

Safe, Supportive, Empowering

Our Shelter provides secure and confidential temporary housing for survivors and their children. We help individuals reclaim their personal strengths, work toward their goals for the future, and transition into a safe and stable living situation.

The goal of the Shelter is to feel as homelike as possible. Our 12-bed facility includes a shared living room, playroom, kitchen and dining room. We are also very fortunate to have a wonderful outdoor play area safely enclosed with a privacy fence.

Available Anytime

Our shelter advocates are available to answer the hotline 24/7 and anyone may call seeking information and resources. A person may enter shelter at any time, and there is no need to wait until traditional business hours to call for help. We are part of a network of 46 certified shelters who share bedspace, so if we’re full, we’re able to connect those in need of shelter with another facility with adequate space.

Available services include safety planning, weekly support groups for both the residents and their children, parenting classes, assistance with job training, nutrition and cooking classes, personal budgeting and finance classes, transportation assistance, household establishment assistance and more.

We understand that for many survivors, pets are members of the family too! Crisis Line partners with Ahimsa House to provide safe shelter for our client’s pets. For more information about Ahimsa House, visit https://ahimsahouse.org/.
