Legal Services Program
24-Hour Crisis Hotline
The Legal Services Program assists victims in filing for Temporary Protective Orders (TPO) in Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Peach, and Twiggs Counties.
WHAT IS A TPO?
A Temporary Protective Order, (TPO), is a legal document that restrains the abusive party from contacting the victim, harassing the victim, or coming within 150 yards of the victim.
There are other provisions in a TPO that can be helpful, like restricting visitation, granting use of a shared home or automobile, or restricting access to firearms.
TPOs must be filed in the county where the abusive party resides (except in certain circumstances).
If you have questions or if you would like to file a TPO, please call 478-745-9292.
The Legal Services Program also provides legal assistance for victims of crime in civil cases, such as:
